About the member
In my opinion, an educator is one who must first value knowledge and then pass their acquired knowledge onto someone else. Teaching is how a person relays information, ideas, practices, mannerisms, etc. to a willing vessel so that they can use and apply that knowledge within their lives to continue the process. Learning is the way in which we receive and retain information to be able to incorporate that information in some form of our everyday life or apply as needed. Yes! There is always room for revising beliefs and ideas. Sometimes various situations will challenge what you believe, and even if you’re effectively teaching there will be times of frustration. In those moments is when your integrity and value will be tested, but I’ve learned that even the most difficult child still wants to learn and do well. With technology constantly emerging, an effective teacher would need to always look for ways to improve their teaching style and incorporate ways to reach all of their students. The overall “picture” is never quite complete because we must continue to grow to provide the best possible learning experience for each of our students.
Nine years of teaching experience in the area of secondary mathematics and four years of teaching experience in computer science principles.
